Churches in Membury Parish

St John Baptist Membury

Membury Axminster
(01297) 792120

Our much loved church is a Grade 1 listed building, that has evolved over the centuries. It contains examples of architecture extending from the Norman period to the 21st century, including part of a finely carved medieval screen.

In the late 14th century tower there is a ring of six bells, which are often rung before services, and again on Monday evenings, for bell practice.

The church is normally open every day, and holds services on Sunday mornings at 11am, to which everyone is warmly welcomed.

Our services follow the monthly pattern of Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays, Morning Prayer on the second Sunday and an informal service on the fourth Sunday. Where there is a fifth Sunday we join with the other churches in the Axe Valley Mission Community when the various churches take turns to host the service.
